DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH
Established in 1971, English Department of Tuljabhavani Mahavidyalaya, Tuljapur, Dist. Osmanabad is the active department with two full time and one CHB faculties. The department of English has a glorious tradition of eminent and scholar teachers of English like Prof. Dilip Ghorpade, Prof. C. D. Chikmath, Prin. R. G. Chavan, Capt. Smt. Usha Chavan, Prof. D. N. Sayyad, Dr. P. A. Kulkarni, Prof. J. A. Mhetre, Prof. F. A. Siddiqui and Prin. S. T. Shingate. The department offers general English course at B. A. having 4 main and 2 subsidiary at final year. The department runs Short Term and Add-on-Courses like Basic English Grammar, Spoken English Course and Certificate Course in Communicative English to update both the teacher and student knowledge. The department has organised guest lectures of eminent personalities at Certificate Course, Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe Literary Association and on various topics and titles of language and literature. The department has also organised two National Level Seminars/Conferences and published research papers of delegates in “Aayushi” an International Level Peer Reviewed Journal with ISBN No.
All the faculties in the department are Ph. D. holders and two of them are Ph. D. Guides. The head of the department holds the responsibilities as an ANO of NCC, an IQAC Coordinator, CDC Member and has completed a Minor Research Project entitled “J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter: A Quest for Human Values” whereas his colleague perform the responsibilities as the member of Women Empowerment and CDC Member. The faculties have published almost 55 research articles in International and National Level Journals with ISSN & ISBN No. The department observes both the birth and death anniversaries of English authors and Sahitya Academi Awardees publishing special issues of wall papers. It has organised exhibitions of Poster Presentation on English Day and European Day of languages. It also arranges educational tours for students.
Departmental Staff
The department has participated in an online Certificate Course in “The Concepts of Basic Grammar in English” organised under MoU in collaboration with cluster college(5) by SGRG Shinde Mahavidyalaya, Paranda (Dist. Osmanabad). The department almost organise the student centric activities.
