DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE

Department of Political Science was established in 1971. It has UG as well as PG Level Program. The UG level department was started in 1971 and PG level Program in 1982. The Political Science department is working under the social science faculty. This department makes Annual plan as per University norms and implements it strictly. Osmanabad District in Maharashtra is considered as drought prone area. Students of the department come from rural area. Many of them come from financially and socially backward class. To fulfill their academic and career need we continuously organize curriculum and extra curriculum activity. Our department organize guest lecture for the students which help to develop their personality. Study tour, project writing, field visits are regularly used for all round development of the students. As a part of CIE we focus on individual guidance for preparation of exams. Surprise test, unit test, Paper solving, question bank, study tour are the aspect of preparation for internal evaluation. We also focus on life skill enrichment activities like Short term and value added course along with regular curriculum. In last 4 years we have organized 4 short term course and 3 value added course for the students. The faculty of the department is highly qualified and dedicated to the department development. The faculty has great tradition in research there is 1 full time and 1 Clock hour basis post as per university rule. Currently there are 2 CHB Faculty working for the department. The department has organizes two national level seminars in last 5 years. In the department there are two Ph.D Holders. Dr. B W Gund was awarded Ph.D. in 2015 and Dr. A. B Gaikwad Awarded Ph.D. in 2020
